Welcome students to our little slice of erudite wisdom on the web. The following are important deadlines/updates/assignments to be mindful of:

 English I Regular, Periods 1,3,5,6:

Monday January 30 onward- remember to bring the novel, SPEAK by Laurie Halse Anderson to class.

Please be advised that each day without the book will count as a zero towards Participation for each given day. These will be cumulative.

The week of January 30-February 3 we will alternate between reading SPEAK, working on ARTWalk creative writing assignment and the FCAT task card questions relative to the present unit.

Please remember to bring your visual art pictures/photos for Person, Situation and Place.

 English I Gifted/Honors, Periods 2,4:

The week of January 30-February 3 we will alternate between finishing our Religious/Philosophical tradition presentations, and reading Herman Hesse's Siddhartha.

 Assignment Deadline Reminders:

By next class, have Part I (page 36) read of the novel and answer Chapter 1-4 of the Studyguide questions.

We will be discussing the novel in class.

Announcement: Saturday, January 28- Tibetan religiousd and writer, Lama Losang Samten will be signing copies of his book and speaking at Books and Books in Coral Gables. Any student who attends the event will be eligible for extra credit and in for a treat.
